"My brother Randy has several health issues. He is paralyzed from the waist down and has been since birth. He's been in and out of the hospital most of his life. He's back in at a long term care unit in Austin called Cornerstone Hospital on Burnet Road. About 8 weeks ago he had broken his leg and had been confined to a wheelchair. This caused a pressure sore. He also has had poor kidney function for about 4 years and is fighting his latest battle with a severe kidney infection. The doctors placed him in the long term care unit to treat both the kidney infection and the pressure sore. He had to have a wound vac inserted in the sore which sucks out the bad tissue and inserts antibiotics. This process is going to take a least four weeks or more. The doctors are concerned because this type of wound has to heal from the inside out. If they have to go in and close the wound up surgically it could cause other problems. He's also been on antibiotics via IV 3 times a day for the past 3 weeks to help with the kidney infection. The doctors stopped the antibiotics for the kidney infection late last week but Randy is still very down and really needs our prayers. Please pray that the wound will heal and that he will get to go home soon. His faith is really wavering after having been couped up for so long! Thank you!"

They are afraid she will not qualify to be on the transplant list because of pre-existing conditions. Please pray for Laney and for my co-worker, Tom, as they go through this difficult time. Please pray for Gary Fischer's mom. She found out last Friday that her cancer has returned."

"This is from someone that I know... One of my son's friends (he's 4) who just turned 3 on Friday is fighting for her life in the pediatric ICU at Brackenridge children's hospital with bacterial meningitis. She is in kidney failure and on dialysis, a ventilator, antibiotics and a whole slew of other medications. She is in a coma right now. These folks go to church with us and are some of the absolutely sweetest people I have ever met. Her name is Annie Schmidt. The think she may have gotten it from Lake Georgetown. She woke up with a low fever and a stomach ache on Thursday morning and by 10 that night was on a ventilator and by 11 her kidneys shut down. Right now they think she may lose some toes. Anyway, this is a really sad situation and we are asking anyone we can think of to please pray for Annie and her family."
