Worship at Journey of Faith
Our “come as you are” worship is a blend of traditional and contemporary with high quality music and thought-provoking sermons that speak to the questions asked by thinking Christians. Join us at 10:30 am Sundays for our worship service.
What to Expect
When you visit Journey of Faith, expect to find warm and welcoming folks who are truly glad you are there. Our congregation draws people from many different walks of life – couples with families, single parents, mature couples and singles, gay and straight, Anglo, Hispanic and Black, able-bodied and those with disabilities. We really do welcome all!
As for worship, our service tends toward the contemporary, with the latest in Christian music led by our Worship Leader, Colin MacDonald. We also sing a few traditional hymns, some with a new, more contemporary twist.
The dress is casual from jeans or shorts to business casual. We’re not too worried about how you dress, we’re just glad you are here.
Pastor Glenda Whitehead, who has been a United Methodist minister for 28 years, seeks to bring sermons that are both biblical and relevant and which take advantage of the latest in progressive, biblical scholarship and theology.
We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month, and all are welcome, regardless of previous church affiliation. It’s the Lord’s table, not ours, so you need not be a United Methodist in order to participate.
We provide a nursery for those 5 and under that is staffed by the wonderful and nurturing Ms. Terry, who has been with us since the beginning. We also provide Children’s Church for those first through fifth grade who are not quite ready to sit through worship. For those with infants, who may not yet want to leave their new bundle of joy in the nursery, we have a cry room at the back of the Worship Center.
